A New Chapter: From Brewery Tap House to The Lion & Sun Tavern
Earlier this year marked an important milestone for us at Bucks Star Beer — the evolution of our Brewery Tap House into something more intentional, more expressive, and more aligned with who we are today.
We’re proud to introduce The Lion & Sun Tavern.
Why the Change?
The Brewery Tap House has always been at the heart of what we do — a place where our beers are poured freshest, where conversations flow as freely as the pints, and where community has always come first.
But over time, it became clear that what we were building had grown beyond the idea of a “tap house”.
This wasn’t just a place to drink beer.
It had become:
A meeting point for ideas and people
A space for music, chess, conversation, and culture
A home for those seeking something more thoughtful, more grounded, and more human
The name Lion & Sun Tavern reflects that shift.
The Meaning Behind the Name
The Lion & Sun carries symbolism that resonates deeply with our journey.
It represents:
Strength and courage (the Lion)
Energy, warmth, and life (the Sun)
Together, they speak to balance — something we strive for in everything we do, from how we brew to how we host.
It also nods to heritage, storytelling, and a wider cultural identity — values that have always quietly shaped Bucks Star, and now take a more visible place in the space itself.
The Lion & Sun Tavern continues to serve:
Our organic, unfiltered, unpasteurised beers, brewed on-site
A curated selection of organic wines, sodas, and quality local products
Stone-baked pizzas and food offerings designed to complement the beer experience
A growing calendar of events, music, and community gatherings
All within a setting that remains relaxed, welcoming, and community-led — just as it always has been.
Looking Ahead
As we move forward, The Lion & Sun Tavern gives us a stronger foundation to build on — not just as a venue, but as a space with identity and intent.
If you’ve visited us before, you’ll still recognise the spirit.
If you haven’t yet — we look forward to welcoming you.
